Check out Chris wool! His exhibit is at the Guggenheim right now and I hear it's quite amazing.

I checked him out online, and I feel kind of hit or miss about him. Some of his stuff is really interesting and creative, but he’s got a lot of the whole “squiggled line, can you tell the difference between this and finger painting” peppered in. I’ve tried and failed to enjoy that kind of art quite a few times. Hah. Thanks for the recommendation!

Well, since you’re all anon and shit I have no concept of your taste or ability. I’m currently reading Lolita, which I’ve been intending to read forever, but if you’re looking for a lesser known recommendation I suggest The Namesake by Jhumpa Lahiri.
